The Caidal Tent, or Makhzen, is made of white canvas, decorated with black patterns recalling a qandil (oil lamp).Widespread in Morocco, caids' Tent (hence its name) hosts invited figures during national, religious or family celebrations (weddings in particular). It is surmounted by golden balls, symbol of authority. Its interior is decorated with large wall hangings : Haïti. « Haïti » (coming from Haït, the walls) is a colorful fabric support. These fabrics, green & red, are cut and sewn to create a picture of Mihrab. Theses tents are created to honour distinguished guests.
